Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and her father Elroy have both been Malaysian. Jacqueline is the oldest of two siblings and a younger sibling. Parents relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan civil unrest and hence she was born and raised in Bahrain. In Australia she was enrolled in Media and Communications at University of Sydney following her graduation from Bahrain. Having a passion for the world of languages and cultures, she joined the Berlitz school of languages, where she learned to speak Spanish and improve her French as well as Arabic. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6, 2006 and competed at Miss Universe 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006, Padukone began working in the world of television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone is the daughter of tennis star Prakash Padukone. She was born in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. As a teenager, Padukone competed in badminton championships at national level. However, she left the sport in order to pursue a career as a designer. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Padukone is a village located in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro with international recognition. Her mother works as an agent for travel.
